China Airlines is Taiwan's premier airline and offers worldwide flights, with routes extending to the major cities in the U.S., Europe, Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia. Starting from your initial reservation, China Airlines provides you with the best and most convenient service. (92 cities in 29 countries, as of June 30, 2010)
On June 14 2010 China Airlines inaugurated new direct cross-strait scheduled service from Taipei Songshan Airport to Shanghai Hongqiao Airport, marking a historic milestone in the opening of direct transportation links across the Taiwan Strait. CAL will operate six round-trip flights each week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. In the initial stage, CAL will operate the service with Boeing 737-800 aircraft providing 158 seats in economy and business classes. An Airbus A330-300 plane will be used when Songshan airport completed its reconstruction.
China Airlines launched scheduled passenger services between Taipei, Taiwan and London, England, starting on 28 March 2010. The new flights, CI-069 from Taipei to London, and CI-070 from London to Taipei, will operate three times per week, using an advanced Airbus A340-300 aircraft, configured with 30 business-class seats and 246 economy-class seats. This exclusive non-stop service to London Heathrow Airport highlights CALís commitment to the European market, and provides passengers with greater flexibility in their travels between Taiwan and London, and onward to other destinations in Europe.
With the inauguration of the new London non-stop route, China Airlines will increase its number of European destinations to five, with a total of 21 flights to Europe per week. In addition to London, China Airlines provides non-stop services to Frankfurt and Vienna, while its Amsterdam flights stop over in Bangkok, and its Rome flights stop over in Delhi. CAL also serves Prague via a code-share agreement with Czech Airlines, and it serves Hamburg, Hanover, Stuttgart, Dusseldorf, Cologne, Nuremburg and Munich through a landmark code-share agreement with rail operator ICE Germany.
As Britain began granting six-month visa-free entry for Taiwanese passport holders on March 3, 2009, encouraging more Taiwanese to travel to the UK, the new London service is not only timely, but also enhances the relationship between the two destinations. To better serve its customers, China Airlines will also work with major travel agencies to provide a variety of new package tours to London. Please visit www.china-airlines.com for more information.
