Thai Air

Thai Airways co-hosted a seminar “Enhancing Air Traveling to Thailand” aimed at Chinese travel agents to discuss aviation and tourism. Government air transport organizations and The Association of Thai Travel Agents joined THAI at the seminar on 2-3 December 2009 at the Pullman Bangkok Hotel

THAI currently operates more than 45 flights per week to six major cities in China: Beijing, Kunming, Chengdu, Xiamen, Guangzhou and Shanghai. THAI also provides First class service on the route Bangkok- Shanghai.

In addition, THAI is planning to operate the flight on route Beijing– Phuket. More flight frequency and the number of destinations in China will be added to meet the increasing travel demands of Chinese people.

Thailand is well known amongst Chinese visitors for its diverse and beautiful natural attractions, rich culture and cuisine, high standards of service and value for money. Phuket is one of the favorite destinations among Chinese tourists. Apart from Phuket, many tourists are attracted by the world famous southern beaches and island such as Samui and Krabi. Tourists could enjoy shopping, dining and spa through THAI’s Royal Orchid Holidays packages.

Thai Airways now offers Royal First Class service for the first time to Dubai in the Middle East, starting from 1 December 2009 utilizing Airbus 340-600 aircraft.

Royal First Class passengers are offered dedicated First Class check-in counter service at Suvarnabhumi and Dubai Airports, Royal First Class Lounge access at Suvarnabhumi Airport and Royal Orchid Spa Lounge, providing two private therapy suites and sauna, exercise and yoga spaces.

Currently, THAI operates daily to Dubai, utilizing the Airbus A340-600 with a total seat capacity of 267: eight seats in Royal First Class, 60 seats in Royal Silk Class and 199 seats in Economy Class.

This upgrade in seat capacity for First Class passengers is part of an overall THAI strategy targeting the growing Middle East market. THAI serves Dubai, Kuwait and Muscat with high load factors.

THAI also takes pride in its Middle East credentials with a substantial Halal food catering division providing up to 4,000 meals a day on its own flights to Muslim countries such as Pakistan, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Brunei, India, Oman, Kuwait and the UAE.
